  1. A device for enhancing the maneuverability of motorboats and motoryachts includes a high velocity water jet pump (HVWJP) attached to the main engine through an electromagnetic clutch. High velocity water flows from the HVWJP's outlet to bow and stern side nozzles, through solenoid valves, individually controlled from the cockpit. The benefits of the device are that turns and lateral movements will be easier and faster, and extra power for fire fighting and emergency bilge water pumping are also available. Further, if the yacht, while speeding, strikes a rock or other submerged obiect and the propellers and shafts are destroyed, the crew will use the U section pipe to connect the NVWJP's outlet to an auxiliary propulsion pipe, demonstrate to the tug's skipper that his yacht is not a dead ship on the water, and legally claim and pay the towage fee, instead of the far more expensive salvage fee.
