An apparatus for measuring step height or depth against another surface with a measuring arm mounted horizontally beside the scale which has a beveled end allowing precise readings regardless if the apparatus is being held perpendicular, the apparatus has exchangeable measuring arms with various reaching capabilities, and a handle mounted to the top of the scale allowing the apparatus to be operated with one hand. A preferred embodiment includes the apparatus at four to five inches in length whereas an operator is able to measure height and depth in difficult to reach places.
