The message mapping technique is a process by which the key ideas (messages) described in information resources, including but not limited to books, articles, abstracts, monographs, advertisements, and scientific posters, are identified, categorized, and quantitatively scored for relevance from the point of view of the reader (i.e., consumer, a doctor, researcher, etc).
