Technical Examples
  1. Disclosed herein are biomedical implants, and methods of using same, that are derived from bone. Particularly exemplified are implants having a tapered dowel shape that are useful for implantation in the spine, and especially in the cervical region of the spine. The taper of the implants disclosed herein provides an advantage over conventional implants, as it creates the proper support and angulation to maintain the proper curvature of the spine. Optionally, the implants taught herein are associated with osteogenic materials or other biomedical substances.
