  1. A luminous pointer of a displaying instrument has a pointer body with a light emitting area that is divided into subsections with prisms. The subsections are illuminated at different timing. A light emitting circuit, including light emitting diodes (LEDs) for illuminating the light emitting area, and resistors and zener diodes for driving the LEDs, is arranged in a boss of the pointer body.
