Technical Examples
  1. An actuating mechanism (10) is taught that is used for externally operating a mini-blind (20) or a shade (20') in a sealed double glazed window (22) which includes a window frame (24) with a side opening (26) and a roll box (28) in alignment with the side opening. A blind actuator (34) incorporates a rotatably sealed pulley shaft (38) that interfaces with the roll box on an interior end (40) and a belt pulley (66) on an exterior end (42). The actuator is sealed to the window frame with an O-ring (48) and rotation of the belt pulley causes the blinds to raise, lower and tilt. When the actuator is slideably removed from the window frame the mini-blind cord roll box may be extricated for replacement or repair.
