  1. A connector assembly for a fishing pole is provided with a first connecting member, a second connecting member, and a spring. The first connecting member has a locking stud. The second connecting member has an L-shaped slot therein for axial receipt of the stud and rotated locking engagement with the stud. The spring is interposed between the first connecting member and the second connecting member. The spring is configured to axially urge apart the first connecting member and the second connecting member when provided in rotated locking engagement therebetween. One of the first connecting member and the second connecting member includes a tapering surface. Another of the first connecting member and the second connecting member includes a mating contact surface configured to mate in engagement with the tapering surface to tighten engagement between the first connecting member and the second connecting member as the first connecting member and the second connecting member are urged apart by the spring.
